A goal-setting formula to make sure your goals are clear and reachable. A SMART goal is: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This means when you set a goal, you spell out exactly what you want to accomplish, you can track your progress, the goal is realistic, it matters to you, and you have a deadline. For example, instead of a vague goal like “get better at math,” a SMART goal would be “increase my math grade from 80% to 90% by the end of the next semester by practicing 3 extra problems every night.” This way, you know what success looks like and how to get there. SMART goals take big dreams and break them down into a concrete plan, kind of like turning a wish into a to-do list. They’re popular in education and business because they really help people follow through on their objectives.
