A clever technique for building new habits by attaching them to habits you already have. The idea (popularized by author James Clear) is that your existing routine can serve as a trigger for a new behavior. For example, if you already brush your teeth every morning (established habit), you can “stack” a new habit onto it, like doing 5 minutes of vocabulary flashcards right after brushing. Because the first habit is something you reliably do, it’s easier to remember to do the new habit immediately after. Over time, the new behavior piggybacks on the old one and becomes routine itself. It’s like creating a little chain of behaviors that flow one after the other, making habit-building feel natural.
