A study method named after physicist Richard Feynman that involves teaching a concept in simple terms to truly understand it. The idea is: if you can explain something as if you’re teaching it to a younger sibling or a friend (no fancy jargon allowed), then you really get it. If you get stuck while explaining, that shows you exactly which part you need to review. It’s a bit like testing your knowledge by trying to be the teacher – often you’ll find gaps that you didn’t notice just by re-reading the textbook. By filling those gaps and simplifying the explanation, you end up mastering the topic.
