Intrinsic Motivation

The drive to do something because it internally rewards or interests you, not because of an outside reward or pressure. When you’re intrinsically motivated, you might study a subject just because you find it fascinating, play the piano for the love of music, or write stories because it’s fun – even if no one else is telling you to or giving you a prize. This is like an inner spark that makes an activity satisfying in and of itself. Intrinsic motivation often leads to better creativity and persistence, because you genuinely enjoy what you’re doing. (Of course, not everything in school is intrinsically fun, but finding personal meaning in a task can help a lot!)
